How to send before and after photos to clients
How you send photos is part of the service. A tidy link feels professional, while twenty loose attachments feel like homework.
The options
- WhatsApp or text: quick and personal, but it compresses photos and they get buried.
- Email: fine for a few photos, but large attachments bounce and sit in spam.
- Shared drive: stores everything, but clients must open folders and work out what they are seeing.
- A private gallery link: one tap, organised, and it works on any phone.
The steps
- Choose the best pairs. Send your strongest three to ten pairs, not everything you took.
- Label each area. Plain words like Kitchen floor or Front wall help the client follow along.
- Send it the same day. Their interest is highest as you finish, which is also when you are most likely to get a review.
- Add one short sentence. Say what you did and what they should do next, such as leaving the floor to dry.
- Ask for one thing. A review, a referral or payment. One request gets a better response than three.
A message you can copy
"Hi Sarah, all finished at your place today. Here are the before and after photos: [link]. Let me know if you have any questions. If you are happy with the work, a quick review would really help us."
Questions
Should I send photos before I get paid?
Usually yes, as seeing the result often speeds up payment. If you have had trouble before, send the link with the invoice.
Should I blur anything?
Avoid showing house numbers, number plates or people in photos you plan to publish, unless you have permission.
