A job photo app that works with no signal
Site work happens in basements, plant rooms and remote locations. An app that needs a connection fails at the moment you need it.
What works offline
- Opening your assigned jobs.
- Starting a job.
- Taking before and after photos.
- Completing a job.
What happens when signal returns
The app uploads in the background, and a small status label shows when everything is backed up. If two people change the same job while offline, the changes are merged field by field, so one person's update does not wipe out another's.
One rule
Photos live only on the phone until they upload. Open the app once you are back in range, and on phones that allow it uploads will carry on by themselves. If you need to sign out, the app warns you first if anything hasn't synced.
Questions
Does an offline job need signing in first?
You need to have signed in once with signal. After that, the app opens without a connection.
Will it use a lot of data?
Photos are resized on the phone before upload, so they use less data than full-size originals.
